The Property
The Homelessness Response Programme was established to support people experiencing homelessness across North Canterbury.
All referrals are received through the Waimakariri District Council online portal. Once a referral is received, the Homelessness Response Team follows up directly with the individual or whānau to assess their situation and provide appropriate support.
The team works with people experiencing a range of housing challenges, including:
- Rough sleeping or unsheltered living
- Living in vehicles
- Temporary accommodation
- Emergency housing
- Transitional housing
- Unstable or insecure accommodation.
We work collaboratively with local agencies across North Canterbury and Christchurch to identify the best possible outcomes for each client and help them access the support they need.
The North Canterbury Homelessness Response Team consists of one Team Leader and two part-time Navigators.
