Comcare offer free community based mental health and addiction services in the Waimakariri and Hurunui districts for people aged 18+.
Using a restorative strengths-based approach to support people towards wellbeing, we offer community mental health support services, peer support services, and our physical activity based.
Activelinks Support Service: provides support to “get active” through increasing participation in physical activity, sport, recreation and leisure pursuits. The aim of the service is to promote independence and involvement in community life with a focus on health and wellbeing. Support can be individual or through a group.
The MUM Group – Mum’s Understanding Mum’s

The MUM group is a well-being support group for Mum’s with children of any age. We offer a supportive, safe space with experienced facilitators, in which to navigate the highs and lows of the parenting journey. Each week we focus on a topic, sharing our clinical resources and holistic approach as well as the benefit of lived experience. Supported by Health Improvement Practitioner and Health Coaches from Te Tumu Waiora, North Canterbury.
