I will create a safe and confidential environment; the group will set the topics for discussion and we’ll support each other to explore some of the deeper matters of life and death.
About Liz Adcock-White
Kia ora, I’m Liz and for as long as I can remember I have been interested in people and their life stories – and (apparently) I’ve always been a bit nosey! I’ve lived in different countries – the UK, France, Romania and Kuwait – and observed cultural attitudes towards disability, death and dying. I am a registered Social Worker and have had lots of personal and professional experiences supporting those with palliative and grief issues – most recently I founded The Fifth Season: Palliative Support (thefifthseason.co.nz) which offers companionship and guidance through the vast emotions, decisions and tasks that may arise towards the end of life. So … let’s talk….
Death Café North Canterbury offers a safe and welcoming space to talk openly about any aspect of death and dying, with professional facilitation. There is no agenda, no product, and no guest speaker — you bring the kōrero, I bring the cake!
Death Café North Canterbury meets most months on a Sunday at 2pm, it is free to attend and is hosted at three local libraries: Rangiora, Kaiapoi and Amberley.
Death Cafés are held in over 94 countries worldwide, including many here in New Zealand.
