Mayors Taskforce for Jobs Hurunui and Waimakariri

Mayors Taskforce For Jobs in Hurunui and Waimakariri are here to support you with your journey to employment. If there is anything holding you back we will come alongside you to overcome these barriers.

We work with young people (16–24), as well as job seekers of any age living with health conditions or disabilities and other job seekers at any age needing support to find employment.

For an eligible jobseeker we can provide mentoring and 1-1 pastoral support to enable you to enter the workforce via things like:
• Free counselling (with average 3 day wait time to be matched to a counsellor)
• Funding for training, clothing and equipment for work
• Help to get work ready
• Help with driver licencing.

If you are a local business wanting to employ via the programme there is support for you too:
• Give a chance to local people with untapped potential
• Wage subsidies for eligible new employees
• Funding for training of new employees
• HR advisory support for the business
