The Property

NODA (No One Dies Alone) is a programme that offers companionship and support to people who are nearing the end of life, who’s whanau/family or friends, for whatever reason, are unable to accompany them at this time.

Our goals are:
● To provide a compassionate and caring presence for patients who are about to die and who are alone.
● Support those who are dying alone so their death can be as dignified as possible.
● Relieve family or care staff who are concerned about a patient who is about to die alone.

The NODA programme is now available at Canterbury facilities and is offered free, by a team of police vetted, trained and supervised volunteers.

Should you have a person who is in their last days of life and who faces the prospect of dying alone, please contact the NODA team and advise of the patient’s location, general circumstances and contact person’s details.

In the first instance please contact the NODA teams at:
Christchurch area – christchurchnoda@gmail.com
North Canterbury – noda.northcanterbury@gmail.com

On receipt of a referral we will contact the referrer and then notify our members via an app which allows them to self-roster. Please note that NODA is not able to provide 24 hour service.
